Family Background:
Lukonde comes from a household with both parents. He is the second born of the three children. Despite of having both parents, the father is the sole provider and his salary can barely meet household expenses.
Lukonde's Education:
Lukonde is a very intelligent, obedient and very honest boy. He has an overwhelming dedication to school as evident from his former head teacher’s remarks. His academic performance at primary school has often been rated as good. Lukonde’s favourite subjects at primary school were Mathematics English and Science.
At Ibex Hill Secondary School (Grade 8):
Lukonde is one who loves to learn facts about life, and that’s what he feels he is learning here at Ibex Hill. He loves science because of the practical things he is discovering about his surroundings. He also loves English because he is extending his vocabulary and his grammar is getting better. Lukonde has also made some improvements in Mathematics.
Lukonde's Interests:
In primary school, Lukonde was artistic and loved painting, but also enjoyed reading. Because of his love for English, Lukonde has joined the Ibex Hill Scrabble club, which has helped him with his vocabulary and word construction. He also plays on the school’s volleyball team.

Lukonde wants to be an artist.

Lukonde's Thoughts:
“The main thing I am enjoying at Ibex Hill is the better education. The teachers here are very good. I enjoy having access to a library that my former school didn’t have. I am also becoming more responsible and I am learning how to take care of myself better without the help of my parents. This is good for my future. The Kucetekela Foundation is helping my family save money for things which they need because of sponsoring me at Ibex Hill.”
